Forest School
At Pytchley CofE Primary School, our Forest School ethos is rooted in the belief that every child is naturally curious, capable, and eager to explore the world around them. We provide rich outdoor learning experiences that nurture children’s confidence, creativity, and sense of wonder through hands-on discovery in nature.
Through our Forest School sessions, children are encouraged to take risks, solve problems, and develop resilience in a safe and supportive environment. The setting inspires awe and respect for the natural world, fostering a lifelong connection to and care for the environment.
Our vision is to:
- Cultivate independent, confident, and motivated learners who are proud of their achievements.

- Encourage curiosity and creativity through open-ended, child-led exploration.

- Support emotional well-being and social skills by building trust, teamwork, and empathy.

- Instil a deep respect for nature, promoting sustainability and stewardship of our planet.

Forest School is not just an activity – it’s an ethos that celebrates the whole child. By learning in nature, our learners grow not only in knowledge but in spirit, imagination, and joy.
